With three kids aged 5 and under, I don’t have time to create fancy, Pintrest-worthy lunch boxes each day. Instead, I focus on being fast, fresh, and healthy. These lunch ideas that I use regularly take me less than 10 minutes total to put together. They’re suitable for toddlers, preschool and school-aged children, AND are healthy, balanced, and nutritious! I’ve been known to pack the same lunch for a week straight, so this menu could equate to 5 WEEKS (!) worth of lunches.

One thing I do on rotation is that I make a big batch of muffins or healthy snacks  every few weeks so my freezer is always stocked with at treat that I can stick straight into their lunchbox. That bit of work is always worth it since 1 or two batches of muffins can last the month!

What are your go-to lunchbox ideas? Share them in the comments.

Monday: BREAKFAST FOR LUNCH

Still sleepy from the weekend? Ease them (and you) into the week with a lazy lunchbox that uses up weekend brunch leftovers.

Tuesday: PROTEIN BENTO BOX

Fuel their learning with a high-protein combination that will keep them energized all day long

Wednesday: ITALIAN-INSPIRED EATS

Kids love pasta, and tortellini and mini ravioli taste great at room temperature. Use leftovers from the night before to make lunch packing a breeze.

  • tortellini or mini ravioli  drizzled with olive oil
  • sliced pears
  • cheese stick
  • bell pepper slices
  • zucchini muffin (get the recipe here)

Thursday: THE MODERN LUNCHABLE

Non-sandwich eaters, rejoice! For kids who snub sandies, this lunchbox uses all the elements between the bread! Think of it as a modern day lunchable!

  • rolled up ham or turkey
  • cheese squares and crackers
  • cucumber slices and baby carrots
  • strawberries
  • popcorn

Friday: MONKEY-ING AROUND

You can practically taste the weekend, and this sweet lunchbox will match your child’s silly mood!

  • banana and sunbutter roll-ups (spread sunflower butter and sliced banana on a whole wheat tortilla, and roll up into a log. Cut in half or sushi style)
  • plantain chips
  • grapes
  • edamame
